This study aims to demonstrate that the concepts of psychoanalysis as a method for analysing films with unusual, neurotic characters is the most comprehensive psychological analysis tool used to explain the origin of neurotic behaviours in the story universe. In this context, a psychoanalytical analysis of Sibel, the main character of the film Sibel, shot in 2018, was made. The process of marginalisation of the character Sibel through mute, the pathological sources of her neurotic behaviours and what they correspond to in Lacanian terminology in the narrative universe of the film are tried to be explained with the above-mentioned basic concepts of psychoanalysis. The crystallised state Sibel realised with narcissistic fantasy, and the whole of the neuroses she was dragged into by not being able to be included in the symbolic, an unconscious pattern that is the source of serious fixations was encountered. In the study, descriptive analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, and psychoanalytic method were used together. With this study, it has been seen that the use of psychoanalysis as an evaluation method in terms of film characters with neurotic characteristics, beyond being a philosophical approach, includes all the elements that enable the film characters themselves to be analysed and the film critic to position himself as an analyst English Sibel film, Psychoanalysis, Freud, Lacan, Unconscious https://www.ktppdergisi.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/9-The-Use-of-Psychoanalysis-as-A-Method-in-the-Analysis-of-Film-Characters-The-Case-of-Sibel-Film.pdf https://www.ktppdergisi.com/the-use-of-psychoanalysis-as-a-method-in-the-analysis-of-film-characters-the-case-of-sibel-film_abstract/?lang=en https://www.ktppdergisi.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/9-The-Use-of-Psychoanalysis-as-A-Method-in-the-Analysis-of-Film-Characters-The-Case-of-Sibel-Film.pdf English References 368 374
