Abstract:
The main purpose of prehistoric people’s constant search for food was to survive by maintaining energy homeostasis and preventing hunger. All people have a natural reason to want to eat a variety of foods to satisfy their hunger. It is seen that people tend to eat without feeling hungry, despite the large amount of fat stored in their bodies. Homeostatic hunger is defined as the situation where food is consumed only when needed to meet energy needs, regardless of its taste, during the feeling of hunger that occurs as a result of the decrease in blood glucose levels and the increase in free fatty acid levels. Hedonic hunger is a non-homeostatic hunger situation. This study was investigated with the descriptive compilation (scanning) method, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The data collected was analyzed using the content analysis technique, one of the qualitative research techniques. It was decided which works to reach in line with the keywords created depending on the purpose and limitations of the study. The aim of this study is to investigate the existence of the relationship between hedonic hunger and mental health. Thus, it will try to shed light on future research by providing general information to academics who are interested in the subject and will conduct research.
