Abstract:

As the Cyprus Turkish Journal of Psychiatry and Psychology, we are happy to have published the March issue of 2023. Earthquakes in Turkey after the Covid-19 pandemic left humanity faced with another disaster. As a result of these earthquakes, more than 40 thousand people died, more than 100 thousand people were injured and hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless. Hundreds of thousands of the people left behind lost their homes, jobs, cities and lives in fifteen seconds. After these earthquake disasters, millions of people started to experience mental problems. Psychological trauma and disaster centers have begun to be established in the regions. Interventions for the losses experienced were insufficient. In fact, it is not enough to establish Psychological Trauma and Disaster Centers. Sufficiently trained and qualified specialists are needed. Qualified Mental Health Professionals are needed to assist people with Mental Trauma. There is also a need to increase the training of experts working in the field of mental health on Mental Trauma and Psychological First Aid. It is also clear that universities and scientific institutions should also provide information support in order to carry out programmed scientific studies for people who need help. Our journal, on the other hand, will continue its contribution to current events. Our journal ranks first in the indexes with the widest network in the field of psychiatry and psychology in its local region, Cyprus. It is pleasing when the increasing interest in our magazine is examined in terms of the number of downloads and readings. In this issue, we are very pleased to share articles with rich scientific knowledge with you. The fact that our journal is on the SCOPUS and Web of Science lists also reveals the importance of its existence. Our articles continue to be indexed in the Emerging Source Citation Index in Web of Science. As the Cyprus Turkish Journal of Psychiatry and Psychology, we wish all our readers a good work and thank all the authors who contributed.
