Abstract:

As the Cyprus Turkish Journal of Psychiatry and Psychology, we are thrilled and honored to present the December 2024 issue to our readers. Around the world, ongoing wars, conflicts, and economic challenges continue to deeply affect societies. These circumstances leave lasting scars on individuals’ mental health, causing irreversible trauma and an increasing prevalence of psychological issues. In today’s world, mental health problems are no longer just personal matters but have become pressing societal concerns. Amid the shadow of wars and economic crises, resources are often allocated more toward armament than improving human welfare. This global imbalance not only strains individuals physically but also takes a significant toll on their psychological well-being. As mental health professionals, we carry the critical responsibility of addressing these challenges by enhancing our scientific knowledge and supporting society. Training skilled, well-equipped professionals and offering solutions for both individuals and communities remain at the core of our mission. Our journal continues to play a leading role in the fields of psychiatry and psychology within the Cyprus region. We take pride in being among the prominent scientific journals in the field, reflected in our notable position in the Scimago rankings, where we are listed among the distinguished Turkish psychiatry journals. Additionally, our presence in international indices such as SCOPUS and Web of Science, along with our aspiration to be included in TR Index, highlights the growing impact of our journal. These achievements are the result of collaborative efforts by our team, authors, and reviewers. While preparing the December 2024 issue, we remained steadfast in our mission to contribute to scientific progress. In the issues to come, we will continue to support innovations and research in the field of mental health. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the authors, reviewers, and the editorial team who contributed to this issue. As we approach a new year, we aim to further advance scientific knowledge and make meaningful contributions to humanity.
